Mrs. Lenz began teaching 2nd grade in 1996 in Fairfax County, Virginia. Since then, she has taught at Bell Creek Middle School and Lindale Middle School in Maryland. Mrs. Lenz started her leadership journey as the 7th grade senior teacher (and later 8th grade senior teacher) at Chickahominy Middle School. She then went on to serve as the assistant principal at Bell Creek Middle School and principal at Washington-Henry Elementary School. After serving as principal of two elementary schools in Chesterfield County Public Schools, Mrs. Lenz has returned to Hanover County as our principal.
Mrs. Lenz attended Virginia Tech, George Mason University, and Johns Hopkins University where she has earned a degree in psychology, a masters degree in special education, and her degree in administration and supervision.
Mrs. Lenz is also a proud wife and mother. She and her husband, Brad, live with their two goldendoodles, Sadie and Snickers. Recently becoming an "empty-nester", Mrs. Lenz's five children are all grown: Maddie (24), Mallory (22), Jack (20) are all "adulting", Britt (19) is a freshman at Virginia Tech studying engineering, and Maryn (19) is a freshman at UNC-Greensboro studying music education. In her free time, Mrs. Lenz loves watching football (Go, Hokies and Hail to the Commanders!), attending Virginia Tech sporting events, going to live music and theater events, reading, and hanging out with her family and friends.
Mrs. Lenz is thrilled to be serving the students and families at MES! Teaching and learning are her "jam" and she loves our students and staff!
